Airtightness requirements

Airtightness requirements - Intro

For buildings with no ventilation system, n50 must not exceed 3.0; for buildings with a ventilation system, no more than 1.0 and for ISOVER Multi Comfort Houses, the requirement is less than 0.6.

An n50 value of 0.6 means that a maximum of 60% of the complete building air volume can escape per hour – with care, however, the n50 can be reduced to as low as 0.3.

The sketch shows the elements and components of a building, namely membranes, plasters, concrete, windows and doors, that contribute to airtightness.
